Volunteers Week 2010

Volunteers Week Award Ceremony was very successful and enjoyed by all with about 120 people attending. You can see a list of Award winners on our web site. The Golden Lion Hotel provided a good buffet and The Stirling Riverside Ceilidh Band provided the music. Bailie Ian Brown presented the Awards and was very impressed with the work of the volunteers. Our manager John Gribben announced that this would be the last Volunteers Week event hosted by The Volunteer Centre in it's present form, as the new Third Sector Interface was being formed which we would be part of.

People Making Waves

SHARE YOUR VOLUNTEERING STORIES

People Making Waves is an exciting project from Volunteer Development Scotland which aims to create a 'digital storybook' featuring stories and experiences from Scotland's volunteers.

Funded by Legacy Trust UK and the Scottish Arts Council, this imaginative online record will form a unique legacy of volunteering in Scotland. But to make this project a success, we need as many volunteers as possible to take part.

If you've got a volunteering story you'd like to share, we'd love to hear it.

Your stories can be told any way you like - using words, images, movies and even podcasts. Whether you're submitting a short film, a quick photo caption or a long essay, your experiences will show the diverse range of volunteering activities in Scotland and make inspiring reading for future volunteers.

Please help us to create a lasting legacy of volunteering in Scotland by visiting www.peoplemakingwaves.org.uk and telling us your stories.

Thank you for your participation in this unique project.

For more information about People Making Waves, please visit www.peoplemakingwaves.org.uk

People Making Waves is part of The Scottish Project, which will create a cultural legacy from the 2012 Olympic Games in Scotland. It is supported by Legacy Trust UK and by the National Lottery through the Scottish Arts Council.
