Intermediary Body Disclosure Check Service
The Volunteer Centre Stirling acts as an Intermediary body on behalf of the Central Registered Body Scotland (CRBS) and local volunteer involving organisations.
This means that we will access and administer Disclosure Scotland checks for volunteer involving organisations free of charge. Any organisation wishing to use this service must register with us to do so and sign an agreement. An Intermediary Body will act as an interface between your organisation and the CRBS and will make the process of accessing a disclosure certificate an easier procedure for you
Under the service, we have a responsibility to both the CRBS and to the Volunteer involving organisation.
On behalf of the CRBS we must ensure that:
- The person requesting the Disclosure checks within an organisation is the appropriate person to do so.
- This designated person understands the Disclosure Scotland Code of Practice and uses the information in line with this code.
- The organisation has the appropriate policies and procedures in place to use the information in a responsible manner for recruitment decisions.
On your behalf we will:
- Be the lead signatory for your organisation.
- Check identification and administer the application forms for your applicants.
- Provide you with the outcome of the check orally by phone or by forwarding you the Disclosure Certificate. You can choose your preferred method.
- Ensure that you are keeping the appropriate and compliant information for your records.
It is important to note that we process the Disclosure applications. We do not provide any recommendations on the suitability of candidates.
