YOUTH VOLUNTEERING

Did you know Stirling has the highest proportion of young people aged 14-25 in Scotland?

An important part of the Volunteer Centre’s role within the Stirling area is to work with organisations and agencies to increase the numbers of young people volunteering. We provide a link between organisations that are looking for volunteers and young people that wish to volunteer.

We meet on a daily basis with enthusiastic young people who wish to use their skills and talents to volunteer and make a difference within the Stirling area.

Does your organisation currently have volunteering opportunities which are open to young people?

Please contact:
Fiona Hutchison, Youth Development Worker at the Volunteer Centre for further information on involving young people within your organisation.

MV Awards are available to individuals aged 16-25 who volunteer. The certificates are endorsed by the Scottish Executive and recognise the time and energies given by young people to volunteering.

We are aware that voluntary organisations have many competing demands on their time, however, becoming involved in the MV Awards initiative does not involve a lot of paper work. The system has been designed so that it is easy and user-friendly for organisations.

Fiona Hutchison – Youth Development Worker at the Volunteer Centre would be delighted to give any interested organisations further information on MV Awards.
